After completing the Trail Host II training a few weeks earlier, we scheduled the first class that i would get the opportunity to teach myself. Many of our members down in the Ephraim area expressed interest in the Trail Host training, so we reserved a training room at the ambulance building for the 27th.
We had 7 people show up for the training and had donuts with chocolate milk provided. The training went smoothly with plenty of good discussion surrounding trail etiquette and the program itself. After the training most of the attendees had other obligations to attend to, however i was able to go on a trail ride with Chad and Jeanette Taylor from Mt. Pleasant as we attempted to reach the top of Barton Peak through the snow. Chad is one of the original creators of the Hanging Tree trail, and it was awesome to hear all the stories and history of the trail from him first hand while we took a break for lunch near the top of Barton Peak. Chad and Jeanette are also avid Willys Jeep collectors, with quite the array of mild to wild built rigs. We look forward to setting up a trail ride down to Hanging Tree with Chad.
Thank you everyone who made it out to the training!
